    How Does a Toggle Switch Work?

    During manual operation, the switch action can be divided into two stages. The first stage is to pull the handle towards the middle until the handle is in a vertical position. After the handle passes the vertical position, the single knife slider moves rapidly in the other direction under the pressure of the pressure spring and drives the handle to turn quickly. At this time, the moving contact piece quickly disengages from the fixed contact foot on one side and quickly connects with the fixed contact foot on the other side. This is the second stage. At this time, the contact separation speed is related to the pressure of the compression spring, the friction between moving parts and other factors, and the speed is very high. According to the test, the time from contact disengagement to reconnection is only about ms, and the average speed is up to old mms. This speed is many times faster than manual pulling speed or mobile testing pulling speed.
