High-Speed Micro-D uses an impedance optimized open pin field for high-density signal routing flexibility. 1 Amp pre-wired cable and PCB solutions deliver up to 15 Gbps performance per differential pair. Auxiliary EMC ground springs on plugs ensure data integrity and low attenuation performance.
The High-Speed Micro-D achieves its high-speed signal integrity and high data rate performance through innovative modifications to the standard Micro connector insert, principally in the use of an ultra-low dielectric insulation material, but in addition, with the use of Nano TwistPin contacts, exactingly spaced and isolated to eliminate cross-talk and maintain impedance levels through the connector mating interface.
Available in both prewired factory cordsets — with hybrid shielded twisted pair (STP) and standard hookup wire cabling — as well as PCB configurations, the High-Speed Micro-D utilizes #28 gauge wire and is rated at 1 amp per contact (instead of the usual 3 amp rating found in standard Micro connectors).

Like other next-generation rectangulars from FBelec, the High-Speed Micro-D incorporates an auxiliary EMI ground spring on the plug, further enhancing the signal integrity of this ultra-small form-factor connector. In fact, the High-Speed Micro-D's size is perhaps its most important advantage as it is now arguably the smallest and lightest aerospace-grade high-speed interconnect.
As more instrumentation is added for testing and measurement, the need for miniaturization has increased. Micro-D connectors , designed for Mil-spec MIL-DTL-83513, have reduced the footprint of the electrical connection to accommodate the market demand. Douglas Electrical Components manufactures a standard product line of hermetic Micro-D connector feedthroughs for various applications. Our standard Micro-D feedthroughs create a plug-and-play electrical connection for vacuum systems. With Micro-D connectors on both sides of the feedthrough, engineers and system integrators save time and effort, eliminating the need for soldering miniature connector wires or solder cups. These MIL-DTL-83513 connectors are ideal for low leakage and high-pressure applications, where vibrations and size can be a concern.
FBelec incorporates Micro-D feedthroughs into various semi-custom and custom designs. From a standard CF or KF flange to a completely customized feedthrough plate assembly, we manufacture hermetic high-density solutions, including those with multiple micro d sub connectors within a single assembly.
Douglas can customize any conductor to make the electrical connection of the feedthrough. We can directly integrate wires, cables, pins, solder cups, or flex circuits directly into our hermetic epoxy. We can customize these hermetic Micro-D connectors with shielding and jacketing, labeling, and more to make a plug-and-play assembly.
According to the shell form, micro rectangular connectors are divided into three categories: aluminum cold extrusion shell, all plastic shell and extension shell.
In addition to the products with 1.27mm spacing between lines 9, 15, 21, 25, 31, 37 and 51, there are 15 lines (products with 1.27mm spacing between the shell and line 25) and 21 lines (products with 1.27mm spacing between the shell and line 37) with 2.3mm spacing × 1.9mm spacing products; 44 line 1.91mm spacing products.
In addition to 15, 21, 25, 31, 37 and 1.27mm spacing products, all plastic shell products also have 25 wire 2mm spacing, 33 wire 1.91mm spacing, 37 wire (imitation Russia) 1.3mm spacing products and 41 wire 1.27mm sector connectors. The extension shell has 13, 19, 31 and 100 lines with a spacing of 1.91mm. In addition, 52 and 79 lines with a spacing of 1.91mm can be developed according to the needs of users. All plastic shell sheet connector has 2-wire to 16 wire 1.27mm spacing products.
Although these connectors were small when they were first introduced, after so many years of development in the connector industry, many sophisticated connector products have been developed and designed in the world, so the D-type connector is no longer considered a true ultra-miniature.
