Because the direct use of plastic tape has many disadvantages: the plastic tape is easy to dislocate and open the raw rubber after a long time; when the electrical load is heavy, the joint is hot, and the plastic electrical tape is easy to melt and shrink; the power connectors press each other in the junction box; when the connector has burrs, it is easy to poke the plastic tape. These hidden dangers directly endanger personal safety, cause short circuit or abnormality of the line, and cause fire.
The above situation will not occur with insulating black tape. It has certain strength and flexibility, can wrap the joint tightly for a long time, is dry and fixed under the influence of time and temperature, will not fall off, and is flame retardant. In addition, wrapping with insulating black tape and then wrapping with adhesive tape can prevent moisture and rust.
However, the insulating self-adhesive tape also has defects. Although it has good waterproof performance, it is easy to break, so it needs to be wrapped with two layers of plastic tape as a protective layer.
