• What is LCD display?

  LCD (liquid crystal display) may not be a new term for many users, but the history of this technology may far exceed our imagination. As early as the end of the 19th century, Austrian botanists discovered liquid crystals, that is, a substance has the fluidity of liquid and some arrangement characteristics similar to crystals at the same time. Under the action of electric field, the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules will change, which will affect its optical properties. This phenomenon is called electro-optic effect. Using the electro-optic effect of liquid crystal, British scientists made the first liquid crystal display, LCD display in the last century.

  The main principle of liquid crystal display is to stimulate liquid crystal molecules with current to generate points, lines and surfaces, which cooperate with the back lamp to form a picture. It has the following four characteristics:

  Structure design of LCD display

  The hardware of the module includes four parts: arm9s3c2440x processor, data storage module, LCD module and RS232 serial communication module. Two kinds of nonvolatile flash memory NAND flash and NOR flash are used in the module. Considering that NOR flash has the characteristics of on-chip execution and high reliability, it is used to store the program code of ARM9 processor; NAND flash with large storage capacity and high unit density is used to store massive data as the storage unit of image library and character library. SDRAM is used as external memory. TFT LCD lq080v3dg01 is used as the display screen of the module. RS232 serial port is used to communicate with other external modules.
